Top Republican lawmakers have praised a conservative nonprofit for launching a 10-month program of training for Capitol Hill staff and government employees.
The Conservative Partnership Institute is launching a “Conservative Partnership Academy”, a training program in person for “congressional employees and other members in the conservative movement” who want to gain the skills needed to advance good policies in Washington, D.C.
Jim DeMint is a former CPI Chairman and former Senator. He said that the program was designed to equip staff with the “skills they need to run principled conservative offices” in order to “fight and win key battles on Capitol Hill.”
Mike Lee, R. Utah, Senator, calls the program a “game changer.”
Lee said that the Conservative Partnership Academy was a game changer for staffers who want to defend the Constitution in Congress and fight for freedom.
He said that Washington needed patriots who had strong convictions, and policymaking skills.
Rep. Chip Roy, of Texas, said, “As an ex-Hill staffer and now a Member, I have seen what it takes to be able to beat the swamp.”
“The conservatives are facing an uphill fight, so it is important to be armed with the most tools, resources, and skills to defeat Washington’s uni-party.”
Roy described the program as a “great” tool to help staff “navigate through the ups-and-downs of politics while instilling in them freedom-loving principles and a determination to win their hearts.”
Hugh Fike said the program was not just for staff of congressional offices, but would also be useful to staff working in a possible GOP presidency by 2025. DeMint, CPI’s CEO Ed Corrigan, and Mark Meadows, a senior advisor at CPI and former chief-of-staff to former President Trump and former CPI executive, will be heavily involved with the program.
The program will include training in traditional House of Representatives rules and procedure training, Senate rules, and procedure pieces of training, as well as a variety of issue areas and experts.
The Academy will offer three “fellowships”, geared towards junior and senior staff in the policy and communication fields. Applications are open from August 29 to September 29.
“We need sharper conservative minds to work on Capitol Hill and elsewhere to preserve our liberties,” Ted Cruz, R. Texas, stated.
“CPI does important work in training current and future employees, and I am looking forward to seeing CPI Academy graduates succeed.”
