Top Virginia Democrat Stands by Candidate Who Streamed Sex Online for Money

Democrats in Virginia have rallied around a House of Delegates hopeful who had posted online videos showing her performing sexual acts with her husband while asking for tips.

Virginia State Senator L. Louise Lucas (a leading Democratic legislator in Virginia) came to the defense of Democratic House of Delegates Candidate Susanna Gibson. She called on voters to make this “the biggest fundraising day of Gibson’s campaign”, along with a donation link.

Lucas posted another message in which he said, “Susanna & I have just raised over 100 dollars to fight against the Republicans.” If you’re as angry as I am, please donate today!

Lucas claimed that Virginia’s Republican Governor was behind the leak of information in an attempt to “embarrass and humiliate her and they failed completely.”

“Susanna ran for office originally because she was upset about the Roe decision and has been very vocal in her support of reproductive rights.” Lauren Chou, spokesperson for Susanna, said that people are supporting her because they are aware of the Republicans’ intentions to take action against her.

Gibson’s response to the controversy was “an illegal invasion of my privacy intended to humiliate me.”

“My political enemies and their Republican allies are willing to commit a sexual crime in order to attack me and family because they will cross any line to silence women who speak out,” Gibson said to CNN on Tuesday.

If Gibson remains in the race she will face David Owen, her GOP opponent in an election on Nov. 7.
