Joe Biden celebrated his 81st Birthday on Monday, November 20th. Because it was Joe Biden’s 81st birthday on Monday. He turned 81 years old—a fairly common occurrence for someone who was born 81 years ago.
Did I mention that he is 81 years old now? He did in fact turn 81. As we reported previously, the White House did not want to draw attention to the age of Joe Biden, since Americans were not comfortable with it and wanted him to retire and allow someone else to run for the Democratic nomination. The White House and Joe Biden did not mention his 81st Birthday until Monday evening when people were less attentive. The evening news didn’t have a photo opportunity to cover the 81st anniversary of Joe Biden’s birthday.
What a huge mistake!
The original post of a picture of Joe Biden with his birthday cake appeared on Meta’s Twitter clone, Threads. In the post Biden boasts about his 81st Birthday and that he’s now on a new social media platform, which, as I have previously stated, is tanking. He also makes fun of his age by making a joke regarding the number of candles on his cake.
The cake had so many candles that the combined flames looked like a fire hazard.

A screenshot of the Threads posting was posted on X shortly before 7 p.m. ET, perhaps not to give off the impression that they were hiding his 81st birthdate by posting it to Threads. Threads has a fraction of as many users and engagements as Twitter/X. ET, telling people to follow the account. Joe Biden may think that making jokes about his age will make his cognitive decline and decrepitude less noticeable, but this won’t work.
The cake looked familiar to me. Did you notice? The 81 candles on the cake looked like they would burn down the White House. But there was also an undeniable similarity between the cake’s appearance and the symbolism of our country.
Well, @JoeBiden’s 81st birthday cake sure does look familiar. pic.twitter.com/I98Bo7hT3J

Once I saw the connection, I could not unsee it. Joe Biden’s birthday cake looked like a dumpster fire. How perfect for Joe Biden considering all he has done to the country in a short time? There are many fire metaphors, but the dumpster fire strikes me as the best. It’s unclear who decided to put 81 candles on a small, round cake. I would be willing to wager that there was debate about whether or not a raging fire was more politically safe than a cake adorned with two candles spelling out “81.” They clearly chose the cake that required a fire extinguisher, which shows how serious the White House PR team is about Joe Biden’s age. They probably thought it was worth risking the White House on fire rather than publishing the photo of Biden with a cake that read “81.”
