Musk and Cruz Hail Community Notes, Wrecking Deadspin’s Attack on Child

Deadspin did a despicable hit job on a child at a Kansas City Chiefs game, accusing him of wearing “blackface.” They also took a deceptive angle in the picture to support their attack.

Deadspin proclaimed that the NFL must speak out against Kansas City Chiefs fans wearing blackface and native headdresses.

There was one small problem. This hit job looked ridiculous when you saw the full picture of the child. He was not in blackface, but he did wear the colors of his sports team. This is a long-standing tradition for athletes to paint their faces with team colors.

Even worse, the article itself was horrendous. The writer of the article also has a few tweets that are problematic when it comes to race.

Community Notes didn’t care about Deadspins’ “spin”, and smashed them.

The picture in the article is misleading. Other pictures of the child in question show that the other half of his face is painted red and black, which are the team’s colors.

This child was painted by the magazine as a racist. Do they want to question? They should ask themselves what they were thinking when they did that to a young child.

Elon Musk has now weighed in and said, “Media lies.”

Musk said it is now harder to “deceive” the public and took a well-deserved victory lap after introducing Community Notes. This has been a boon for communication on X.

Musk said that this could be too much for them and they may leave the platform. This would make X a more bastion of truth than other platforms. He also called out some additional Note drops.

This was my favorite of all the articles I’ve written.

It’s great. People can no longer claim nonsense without being slapped with reality. Even Joe Biden has been hit by the Community Note. Musk’s contribution to the platform is probably one of its greatest. All these characters will have to reconsider what they say because Community Notes could nail them if not.

Ted Cruz, R-TX, joined the fun.

It’s been several years since Cruz “owned” Deadspin, in an exchange that showed just how hollow they were.

Deadspin may want to stop while they’re ahead. Cruz may be able to own them, just like that little boy.
