The blast did not cause any injuries. The police were talking to the suspect inside the house, and trying to get him out.
WTOP received confirmation from a listener that she lived in the neighborhood and had seen police and other armed officials surrounding the suspect’s home, trying to get him to leave.
“And they are talking to him.” The house blew up the next thing that you know. The entire side of a duplex has collapsed. I’m not sure about the other half. I hope that the people living next door escaped. “They’re now (officials), chasing us out of the street, with all the firetrucks and everything,” she said.
Expect major police and fire responses:
Arlington Fire & EMS announced on X their units were at the scene of a “structure fire” at the same location, and that they should expect a large fire and police response.
