The House of Representatives approved an impeachment investigation against Joe Biden on Wednesday night. This was in response to allegations of corruption including influence-peddling and bribery. By doing so, they have increased the investigative power of the House and made subpoenas easier to enforce.
The House Rules Committee approved the resolution earlier on Tuesday. On party lines, the final vote was 221-212 with one Democrat voting against.

The evidence uncovered shows that Joe Biden was aware of, participated in, and benefited from the Biden’s cashing-in on their name. Joe Biden, the ‘brand’, allowed them to make millions in China, Russia Ukraine, Romania, and Kazakhstan,” said House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R. Ky.) in a press release praising the passage of the resolution authorizing an impeachment investigation.”
Comer added, “Instead of providing answers to the American public, President Biden continues lying about his knowledge and participation in his family’s business schemes.”
With today’s House vote, authorizing the impeachment investigation, we now have a better legal position to fight White House obstruction. We will continue our impeachment probe and hold President Biden responsible for his lies and corruption.
Democrats had been trying hard to prevent the inquiry, clearly out of concern for what would come of the expanded investigative powers a formal inquiry provides. The House Oversight Committee has already uncovered more than $15 million in payments to the Biden family from Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Romania, and China, as well as evidence that Joe Biden spoke with and met with Hunter’s business associates despite repeatedly claiming for years that he did no such thing. A longtime FBI informant also had information about a bribe Joe Biden accepted as vice president.
According to House Speaker Mike Johnson, (R-La.) “Thousands of pages of documents from the National Archives where Vice President Joe Biden communicated under pseudonyms that were intended to avoid public scrutiny.”
An official impeachment investigation will make it easier for House Republicans to uncover more damning evidence and possibly impeach Biden.
Johnson maintains that Republicans, in contrast to Democrats’ partisan impeachments against Trump, have taken appropriate steps for the Biden investigation, and the impeachment of Biden.
Johnson stated on Tuesday, “We must take the next step to fulfill our constitutional responsibility. This is not a political or legal decision. We cannot prejudge. The Constitution forbids us from doing so. We are required to follow the truth wherever it leads us.”
