Iran’s Ominous New Year Countdown: Nukes on the Horizon?

Glenn Beck mentions the possibility of World War III from time to time. Beck describes himself as an alarmist and catastrophist. An examination of current events in the world suggests that we may be closer than we believe to the Midnight Hour on the Doomsday Clock.

Tulsi Gaba also says that our leaders are leading us to global war. We tend to ignore serious issues and comfort ourselves with the idea that our leaders may not be as corrupt, stupid, or obtuse as we think. But how many times have these ideas been proven to be wrong in the last three years? People will still follow their leaders, even if they’re corrupt, stupid, and obtuse.

It is interesting to me that the media has paid so little attention to this fact. Those who do not follow this news can shrug their shoulders and say, “Well, this will take years.” It is impossible that anyone could allow them to do this. Iran has come very close.

Mark Toth and Jonathan Sweet note in an article for The New York Post, that Iran has enough highly enriched Uranium (60%) to build nuclear arms. The authors state that this is sufficient for a chain reaction. The authors say that it is enough for nuclear chain reactions. The IAEA warned in November, that Iran’s stockpile of enriched Uranium combined with its Centrifuge Capacity is

The State Department spokesperson said:

Iran’s nuclear escalation is a concern for us all. This is especially true at a time when Iran, Iran-backed militants, and Iran’s proxy forces are continuing to take dangerous and destabilizing action throughout the region. Included in this report are the latest drone attacks against U.S. personnel, commercial ships, and the Houthi attacks.

The State Department also stated that Iran must “cooperate” with the IAEA to “ensure its nuclear activities are verified and there is no diversion or misuse of nuclear material.”

Was it the same Biden government that released $6 billion in Iranian oil revenue to the Taliban as part of an exchange of prisoners?

People who are in charge of our country, or even the entire world, may believe that Iran’s nuclear weapons serve a useful purpose or that they can be “managed” so that Iran does not push the buttons that change the culture, politics, civilizational, and literal landscapes around the world. Iran may even agree to a temporary compromise.

Years back, in my anti-terrorism class, I was told that people with terroristic ideas are patient and committed to their beliefs. To imagine Iran launching a nuclear arsenal at Israel and the world is horrific. The unthinkable has been made real, even on a small scale.

The visionaries may view a “limited” conflict as an advantage.

No one wants to contemplate a mushroom cloud. The mundane is comforting. Indeed, you should not surrender your daily life to doomsayers. But the ugly truth is that we are closer than ever to a major war since Japan surrendered.

There is a quote that has been attributed to Albert Einstein. Its veracity has been debated, but Einstein reportedly remarked, “I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”
