Social media went crazy this week with an old video of Nikki Haley, which appeared to show her approval for so-called “gender-affirming care” (more accurately called genital mutilation) for children.
Tony Dokoupil, of CBS Mornings, had asked her: “What should be done when a 12-year-old child born in the United States says that he feels more comfortable as a woman? What should the law allow?”
Haley responded, “I believe the law should not be involved in this matter and that parents should take care of it.” This is a task for parents.
During the GOP debate on Wednesday night, Florida Governor. Ron DeSantis effectively contrasted the Florida governor’s position with his record on this issue.
“I introduced a bill to Florida that would stop minors from being mutilated. DeSantis stated during his opening remarks on Wednesday that it is child abuse, and therefore wrong. If you don’t want to fight for your people, you won’t be able to do so if you aren’t willing to speak up for these children.
“She said that the law shouldn’t be involved in this, and I ask you: if you are someone who is going to become president of the United States and you can’t even stand up to child abuse, then how will you be able to do anything else?”
Haley retorted, “I never said this.” “I said if you need to be at least 18 years old to get a new tattoo, you should be at least 18 for any procedure to change your gender.”
DeSantis replied, “You said that the law should not be involved.”
Haley has done herself no favors when she refers to Florida’s HB1557, the Parental Rights in Education Bill, and calls it what the left calls: the “Don’t Say Gay Bill”.
She insisted, “I said that his bill ‘Don’t Say Gay’ didn’t go as far as I thought it would.”
No matter what Haley has to say about this issue, many people have seen her clip in which she said that the law shouldn’t be involved and they have called it unqualified.
Seth Dillon, of the Babylon Bee, declared “Wrong Answer.” Parents do not have the right to abuse children. The law shouldn’t ‘ stay out’ of it.
Dana Loesch, who posted the Haley video on X/Twitter noted that “there isn’t much she can add to support what she said.” Why would you help an anorexic child or a bulimic kid harm themselves by using body dysmorphia?
Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, responded to the video clip by saying that “the law shouldn’t “stay out” of child abuse.”
Chloe Cole – who was tricked as a young child into transitioning, and has since detransitioned – praised DeSantis on this issue, and posted a video clip in which he referred to her during the debate.
Yes!! Haley should not pretend to be some ultra hardcore libertarian. It’s very simple, she will not stand up to child abuse!!!
This problem isn’t solved until we have a president and congress that is willing to stand up to this mutilation. pic.twitter.com/0hUWDCo4Fi

Cole tweeted: “Haley shouldn’t pretend to be an ultra-hardcore libertarian.” It’s simple: She won’t stand up against child abuse!!! The problem won’t be solved until we get a president and a congress who are willing to speak out against this abuse.”
Haley was not the only one who called out Haley.
It’s a fact: Ten years ago, many of us could not have imagined that this would be a major problem. But now, the issue is so prevalent in education and popular culture that it will require strong-willed leadership to stop it. Ron DeSantis is the only leader who will fight to protect our children.
