In 2021 it will be difficult to forget Darrell Brooks’ horrific attack on the Waukesha Christmas Parade in Wisconsin. Brooks drove his car into the crowd, killing six people and injuring dozens of others. Brooks has been convicted and is currently serving six consecutive life terms. He will never be released from prison after spending over 700 years behind bars.
FBI Director Christopher Wray also spoke of this threat level being at an “all-time high” in a recent interview. This is evident, especially in light of the Israeli/Hamas conflict, the hatred being directed at both Israel and the U.S., and the leftist protests that have become out of control and violent. These groups have also targeted Christmas tree-lighting events with their protests. At the Rockefeller Center tree-lighting, they were violent, with several fights on the streets and arrests reported. The protesters held signs such as “Revolution till victory” and even burned a police officer hat.
Everyone is therefore on high alert during this very stressful time.
On Thursday night in Bakersfield (California), a Ford F-150 driver rammed into a crowd of people waiting to see the start of a Christmas parade.

The truck driver, who was driving through the crowd around 5:30 pm, struck multiple people. Three men were injured seriously. The police were at the parade area when they heard a white pickup truck accelerate, and then saw it strike the three people, aged 21, 42, and 77. Police said that the truck was accelerating and backed into three people. The first responders immediately rushed to their aid after the accident, which occurred outside of the Fire Department. Their condition is now stable. The parade was rerouted, but it did go on.
Reports suggested that the man had fought with police officers or displayed belligerence while they tried to arrest him. The police believe that alcohol played a role, but they are still investigating. The 72-year-old man who was arrested has not yet been identified or an official explanation for the incident given. The driver, however, is now in custody and there’s no danger.
The investigation at 21st St and H St is for a vehicle which collided with 3 adult pedestrians. The pedestrians were transported to a local hospital for car. The driver is in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
