Ukraine’s Christmas Gift List to the U.S. Will Blow Your Mind

Dear Santa, er… Mr. President

What’s up, Joe? Your friend Volodymyr Zelenskyy is the president of Ukraine. Tell Blinken to stop making Voldemort jokes. This joke no longer makes sense.

We haven’t spoken in a while. Did I say something? Is it something that I said? Let me know what happened, and I’ll fix it right away.

It’s just not enough. It’s not good enough.

I only want some of these things for Christmas. I don’t want to look greedy, but I would love to have it all.

Your friend,

Voldemort

Reuters:

The list included weapons that Ukraine had already in stock (such as Abrams tanks and 155-millimeter artillery) and others that Ukraine requested in the past. These include F-16s and long-range ATACMS missiles.

The list includes the Apache attack helicopters made by Boeing as well as Black Hawk helicopters made by Lockheed Martin’s Sikorsky Division.

Ukraine didn’t stop at that. Documents reveal that Ukraine wants the F-18 “Hornet”, the MQ-9B Sky Guardian drone, three different types of drones made by General Atomics and the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system, or THAAD, manufactured by Lockheed.

THAAD is the best air defense system in the world. Ukraine could use F-18s.

It is also unclear whether supplying Ukraine with these weapons would deplete U.S. stock, leaving us in an even worse position should we have to fight for ourselves.

A long-term solution is to revive Ukraine’s moribund arms industry. Some European manufacturers of weapons are building factories in Ukraine, and they will assist.

Wall Street Journal:

Ukraine has seen a rise in the production of artillery shells since the start of the war.

Anna Gvozdiar was in Washington D.C. on Wednesday and Thursday. She said: “We have unique products around the globe.”

Ukraine’s fleet has proven its combat readiness. Ukraine has already used sea drones in combat. Other countries are still developing unmanned vessels that can travel on or under the surface of water.

Ukraine’s dependence on the U.S. will continue for the next decade.
