Biden’s Bold Bid: Can His Plan Win Back Black Voters?

President Joe Biden is losing the support of black voters. This could have a major impact on his reelection campaign. Over the last year, more black people have stopped supporting him.

It appears Team Biden is working on a strategy to win back these voters. And it won’t include telling them that they “ain’t black” if you don’t vote for him.

Joe Biden will almost certainly win the first Democratic primary sanctioned in South Carolina in early February.

The president’s allies and aides increasingly see the contest as an opportunity to calm critics by showing enthusiasm among Black voters – a significant portion of the Democratic electorate in the country and a group with which Biden struggles.

Some Democrats have responded by lavishing attention on the state. Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris appeared in South Carolina alone four times this month.

Recently, many surrogates made appearances in South Carolina. The campaign will spend six figures on paid advertising, including television and Black radio in South Carolina.

The move was made after Democratic leaders began to worry that their key constituency might not support the candidate in the same way as it has done in the past. Rep. James Clyburn, a key Biden supporter, expressed concern about the black vote after a New York Times/Siena College survey showed that 22 percent of black voters will back Donald Trump in November 2023 over Biden. If these numbers hold up until the election, they would hand the presidency to Trump. This is why Clyburn, a key Biden ally, is “very worried.”

It is not surprising that black voters are changing their minds, as many African Americans have become increasingly disillusioned by the Democratic Party. Many black voters are tired of empty promises being made in return for their loyalty. Despite Democrats’ claims to care about minorities and black people, the lack of tangible results has driven away a large portion of the black electorate.

Clyburn said in an interview with Joe Scarborough that the decline in Biden’s support had nothing to do either with the party or the president. Clyburn claimed that the conservative Supreme Court was to blame for the drop in Biden’s support.

A shocked Joe Scarborough asked him: “Does it seem that Joe Biden’s standing among Black voters is so low?”

Clyburn replied:

No, absolutely not. Tell me what you see. The focus is on unfinished work. We will show you why.

The GOP House and the “conservative MAGA-leaning Supreme Court justices” are to blame.

Why haven’t you done it? We haven’t been able to convince the Republicans to renew the Voting Act because this conservative, MAGA-leaning Supreme Court has desecrated it. Many black people are therefore disappointed that this has not been done.

Cylburn lamented that Democrats had not been able to extend the increase of the child tax credit. He said, “A lot of black people” were upset by this.

This is very important to the African-American Community. When you ask for polling information, they will give you that. ‘No. I am dissatisfied with the fact that we did not do these things.

It is evident that, despite the Democrats’ excuses and their attempts to gain the trust of African Americans, the black community has been slowly pulling away from them. This does not mean that they will automatically start supporting Republican candidates. Most of them, I believe, will not turn out on election day because they feel the situation is hopeless. It is an opportunity for Republicans to start making inroads among black voters.
