CDC Takes on Root Causes of Violence and Injustice, Shifting Focus from Jailing Criminals

Here we go again. The song is the same, even though the Centers for Disease Control is singing it. The CDC claims that incarcerating criminals does not prevent violent crime. The left-wing agency claims that addressing “root causes” will be more effective.

What are the “root causes”? Now, let’s put it all together: “racism,” and “injustice.”

According to internal documents exclusively obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation, the CDC is set to release new guidance on how to address community violence in the coming weeks, according to the documents.

You may be wondering why the CDC is examining violent crime. It’s a left-wing federal agency.

In the document, Community Violence Prevention Resource for Action is a section that outlines the CDC’s responses to questions from the general public regarding its upcoming recommendations. The agency’s claim that “increasing punishment, including incarceration” does not reduce violence in the community is surprising.

The agency says that “we can prevent violence by addressing underlying conditions which contribute to violence”, such as racism.

They “forgot” about the fact that jail cells in Democrat cities are equipped with revolving doors. Repeat violent offenders were sent back to the streets multiple times until they committed crimes so horrific as to warrant long-term sentences. Unfortunately, many victims don’t survive to see their sentences handed down — or finally served.

Here’s more. (Spoiler: “Gun violence” is about to rear its ugly head.)

According to the CDC, the community violence recommendations will be based on “the best available evidence” and will identify gun violence as a public health problem, in line with previous guidance from the CDC on viewing community violence and gun violence as a concern of public health.

According to the CDC, youth who have been impacted by violence face a greater risk of mental health issues, including substance abuse, obesity, high-risk behavior sexual, depression, traumatic shock, low educational attainment, or suicide.

This ridiculous document from the left is full of excuses to justify violent crimes committed against people of color. This document may not be “a license to kill,” but at least it attempts to rationalize or justify violent crimes committed in a certain segment of society.

The document has prewritten responses to questions such as: “Aren’t criminals making poor decisions the cause of community violence?” or “Shouldn’t we lock them up for our communities’ safety?” Here’s an example:

Racism and economic injustices are among the systemic inequities that contribute to an increased violence risk for some communities.

This is insane!

The CDC says that “dominant public narratives” around crime and race “often view violence as primarily a personal responsibility problem.” The CDC states that focusing on personal responsibility to reduce gun crimes “evokes images of young people and adults, especially Black and African American youth and adults, as aggressors or troublemakers or worse.”

The CDC states that “harmful narratives” about race and violence are “biased, inaccurate”, and “can rob youth and young adults of their humanity” by not valuing them as “complete people” and “valued members of communities.”

This is all I can take. If you feel inclined, check out the original document.

Conclusion:

White liberal guilt is a destructive force that’s getting worse. They want nothing less than to destroy America as we know her, and replace it with a dystopian paradise for the guilt-ridden left – where wrong is right and right is wrong.
