The musician Chris Young was arrested on Monday night in a Nashville, Tennessee bar.
After being arrested by ABC, the “I’m Comin’ Over’ singer was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest as well as assaulting an officer.”
Young, 38, will appear in court on February 16 to answer the charges.
According to the arrest warrant, agents of the Alcoholic Beverage Commission visited the Tin Roof bar at 8:30 pm on Monday to conduct a compliance inspection.
Young was holding up his ID card when an agent approached him. The agent returned the card to Young after checking it for age requirements.
The document says that Young recorded the ABC agents while they were answering questions.
The agents then moved to another bar and continued the compliance check. The agents were followed by Young and several other people to Dawg House next door.
An agent claimed that Young allegedly hit him after he put his arm out to block his exit. The ABC agent claimed that he had pushed the musician to create some distance, and then other bar patrons got involved.
According to an ABC affidavit, Young was physically restrained with handcuffs as his associates made the situation hostile. “Mr. Young’s eyes were bloodshot and watery along with having blurred language.”
Young became famous after winning “Nashville Star”, a singing competition in 2006. Young signed with RCA Records Nashville in 2006 and released his first album.
The first single by the country singer, “Drinkin’ Me Lonely”, peaked at No. 45 on Billboard Hot Country before reaching the No. 1 spot.
Young has recorded eight studio albums. In 2021, he released his latest album “Famous Friends.”
