Scandal in Florida: Pro-Abortion Activists Busted for Fabricating Petitions, Faces Arrest

Authorities in Florida arrested one person and issued a warrant for another after claiming they had organized a fake campaign to change Florida’s abortion laws.

In a recent press release, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement stated that there were suspicions raised when pro-abortion petitions submitted in various counties contained 133 invalid constitutional amendments.

The petitions were filed to challenge Florida’s prolife legislation. They sought to force through an amendment that stated “no law may prohibit, punish, delay or restrict abortion before viability, or when it is necessary to protect a patient’s health as determined by their healthcare provider.”

George Edward Andrews, III, 30 was arrested and taken to the Hernando County Jail. He was charged with 10 felonies, including criminal use of personal information and forgery on petitions.

Jamie L. Johnson (47), who is also accused of petition fraud, has an outstanding arrest warrant. Both accused are from Dade City, in the Tampa Bay Area.

Mark Glass, Commissioner of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), said that Florida’s elections would continue to be fair. Our FDLE inspectors are investigating every claim of voter fraud because our elections cannot be tainted by those who would commit fraud against all voters.

Florida Secretary of State Cord Byrd has also commented:

Florida’s Constitution, which is sacred to the state, has a legal method for voters to amend it. Criminals who try to fraudulently circumvent this process are an insult to Floridians, our laws, and the sanctity they represent. We will do all we can to protect Floridians, our Constitution, and their rights.

Caitlin Conners, southern regional director for Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America told The Daily Signal it was just another example of groups like the American Civil Liberties Union, which “tried to lie and cheat” their way into the voting booth.

She explained:

The ACLU is part of a national campaign to remove protections for moms and babies. They use the same deception and dark money to conceal their extreme policies of legalizing late-term abortions that are painful and destroying the rights of parents.

It’s no surprise that abortion activists used misleading language and committed illegal acts, given the fact that more than 60% of voters support Florida’s law to protect babies with a beating heart. The abortion industry won’t succeed in ignoring the laws and misleading Floridians to support an amendment that would enshrine abortions during the second and third trimesters when babies are capable of feeling pain.

Since Gov. Rick Scott signed the heartbeat law into law, progressives have been adamantly opposed to it. Ron DeSantis was elected in April of last year.

DeSantis stated at the time that “we are proud to support family and life in Florida.” “I applauded the Legislature for enacting the Heartbeat Protection Act, which expands prolife protections and offers additional resources to young mothers and their families.”

All of these measures show Florida’s commitment to building a life culture by adopting policies that put the family first and protect life at every stage.
