ADL Condemns AOC’s Genocide Claim, Sparks Fiery Response in Another Twitter Showdown

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, doesn’t appear to be very knowledgeable about the Gaza situation. It hasn’t stopped her from yelling about Gaza.

She accuses Israel in Gaza of genocide, which is a complete detachment from reality.

The New York Times quoted her saying, “If you want a glimpse of what a genocide unfolding looks like, then open your eyes.” She was urging US President Joe Biden not to continue aid to Israel. “It looks like the forced starvation of 1.1 million innocents.” “It looks like a thousand children eating grass while their bodies are consumed by themselves.” “Trucks of food are stopped and slowed just miles away.”

She did not provide any evidence that Israel is doing anything to slow down aid to Gaza. Her claim was ridiculous, and she also didn’t understand what genocide was.

The ADL gave her a brutal smackdown.

Genocide is only possible with intent. Israel’s objectives are clear: to cripple Hamas terrorists and free the hostages. The @AOC accusation is not based on any legal or factual basis. These statements are merely false accusations that promote hatred.

Exactly. When civilians are killed in the course of war, it is not genocide. Israel is not the one who makes it difficult for food imports. Hamas is also responsible for stealing aid, at least to some extent. Hamas is also responsible for the fact that people cannot leave for safer places. AOC refuses to acknowledge this.

She continued to lash out after the ADL slapped her.

It is a massive and deliberate decision to starve a million innocents to death through the halting or slowing of US humanitarian aid. It is not only irrelevant to these objectives, but it also puts them further out of reach and threatens hostages. There is no defense against forced famine.

Hamas has chosen to not release the hostages, putting the lives of the Gazans in danger. Here, where is her call to Hamas for them to release the hostages and give up? She is attacking terrorists who are waging war and trying to defend themselves. She also repeats Hamas’ propaganda by claiming that “millions” of people are starving.
