Biden may be on stage screaming that it is not his responsibility that the border crisis has occurred and that he requires more legislation, but his administration undermines efforts to resolve the problem. They tried to divert $1.4 Billion in congressionally-funded appropriations from border wall construction.
Biden’s actions since taking office show that he doesn’t care about the millions of illegals who have flooded into this country under his leadership.
A federal judge from Texas retaliated on Friday.
Texas won the first round in a case where two lawsuits were filed against the Biden Administration for stopping border wall construction.
The Congress has allocated $1.4 billion in 2020 and 2021 to “fund the construction of a barrier system along our southwest border.” President Joe Biden ordered that construction stops on his first day as president. The border wall was not built because contracts were already in place. This cost the taxpayers $6 million initially, and then $3 million per day. The materials that were paid for to build the border wall were left on the ground to rust.
The guy who claims to be committed to securing our border has left equipment worth millions of dollars that was funded by taxpayers to be destroyed by nature. Nice.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton praised the ruling.
🚨 Today, I secured a preliminary injunction against an attempt by the Biden Administration to illegally redirect statutorily obligated funds away from the construction of a border wall. Biden acted completely improperly by refusing to spend the money that Congress appropriated… https://t.co/MGBJD2nOya

Paxton’s Tweet continues:
Biden’s refusal to spend money appropriated by Congress for the construction of a border wall and his attempt to redirect these funds was a complete violation. Texas won the battle. His actions show his desperate desire for an open border at all costs.
Since 2021, the case has been circling through the courts:
Missouri and Texas sued Alejandro Mayorkas and the Department of Homeland Security in October 2021. They asked the court to order that they complete the construction of the border wall. George P. Bush, the former Texas General Land Office commissioner, also filed a lawsuit. GLO has over 500,000 acres near the U.S./Mexico border. It also owns approximately 31 linear miles of land along the Rio Grande. When Gov. When Gov.
Mayorkas has fought them at every turn, just like his boss Biden, who has refused to take meaningful action since the start.
Mayorkas responded to the lawsuits by arguing, as he did in almost every lawsuit brought against him, that he had “discretion” over how to implement or change policies. DHS claimed that despite the language in the statutes requiring funds to be used for the construction of border walls and barriers, it was his discretion how the funds were spent.
As the cases progressed, Mayorkas began reallocating funding for border walls to environmental projects and maintenance repair instead.
The judge ruled that Texas proved injury in his ruling.
In his ruling, he stated that Texas had “shown injury-in-fact” by the costs it incurred to administer driver’s licenses, education, and healthcare for a growing number of illegal immigrants. “Traceability” is satisfied because Texas has demonstrated that the failure to build more physical barriers would reduce the number of apprehensions otherwise. This controversy can be resolved because a favorable court decision is likely to reduce the financial damages that Texas would otherwise incur.
Biden and his staff will either fight against this or refuse to do anything. Texas and other states need to continue the fight.
