The House Oversight Committee impeachment hearing on Wednesday was a roaring success, as we reported. Former Hunter Biden’s business associates gave testimony. In its title, the purpose of the hearing is clear: it wasn’t so much about Hunter but rather about Joe Biden – “Influence peddling: Examining Joe Biden’s Abuse Public Office.”

Tony Bobulinski, Jason Galanis, and other witnesses testified that the Biden name added value to their businesses at the time. Hunter Biden wasn’t able to attend the hearing to give testimony. Bobulinski accused him of perjury, and Jim Biden as well, in their respective interviews behind closed doors.

Townhall Reported:

Hunter’s testimony conflicted with other witnesses, according to Comer. Comer said that the witnesses’ information “directly implicated President Biden and family’s influence peddling schemes” was provided by them.

Comer explained how the Bidens received over $20 million for services that were not visible. He said he invited Hunter Biden to the meeting so that he would be able to confront him with other witnesses. But “now he wasn’t there.” Comer explained that Hunter denied his father’s involvement, and this was a conflict of interest.

Comer announced that after the hearings on Wednesday, he would invite Joe Biden to testify, address the conflict, and give his opinion on the issues. He also explained why the Biden family received all the money.

Comer stated that Joe was either “used by his family”, or “he knew what he did to enrich his own family”.

“Joe Biden either was complicit or incompetent,” Comer said that the American people deserve to know what Biden’s actions were.

You would think the White House would have wanted Biden to come out to clear his record.

We know immediately that they cannot do this. They can’t do a voluntary interview with Biden because the Hur interview was a complete mess and exposed him so much. Another interview would expose his problems, and they can’t take the risk. Biden would also likely say things that would not be beneficial on the influence-peddling side.

Ian Sams, spokesperson for the White House Counsel, tried to dismiss the investigation and claimed that the GOP had no evidence. Bobulinski’s testimony made it difficult to dismiss the inquiry.

The Democrats are not left with many options. Biden’s testimony was not allowed. They can only attack the evidence.

If Biden doesn’t want to step forward, it says a great deal. They’re in a bind. Republicans should take advantage of this and highlight what it says about Biden’s refusal to appear.
