The message was sent to CEFC China Energy executive Henry Zhao via WhatsApp on July 30, 2017.
Hunter wrote in the text: “I am sitting with my father and we are wondering why the promise has not been kept.”
Continued Text:
Tell the director that I need to solve this issue now before it becomes a problem. Z, if you do not follow my instructions tonight, you’ll regret it. I’ll hold a grudge for as long as I live, and I know the person next to you will be angry and so will everyone else he knows. All too often people mistake kindness for weakness—and all too often I am standing over top of them saying I warned you. From this moment until whenever he reaches me.
I hope what you are doing is important, as I sit here waiting with my father.
Some cited the text as proof that Joe Biden was directly involved in Hunter’s overseas business dealings. Hunter testified, under oath, that the text was not what it seemed.
Hunter claimed that he had been high on drugs when he sent that message. That’s a reasonable explanation, but not his only one. Hunter also said that he wasn’t with his father at the time the message was sent.
Hunter Biden’s excuses do not surprise us, as he was a drug addict at the time. His other excuses, however, suggest that he’s trying to hit as many targets as possible.
His claims simply don’t hold water. As we’ve disclosed before, a photo retrieved from Hunter’s laptop places him at his father’s residence on that particular day, seated in the driver’s seat of Joe Biden’s cherished 1967 Corvette Stingray, which was stored in the garage of his Wilmington home, accompanied by his daughter and her friend. If he intends to assert that he was under the influence, he’ll face an entirely separate legal dilemma. The narrative strongly suggests he was likely sober.
His other explanations are also illogical.
These claims are false, according to public records and a Republican legislator who was present at the deposition.
Rep. Pat Fallon of Texas told Vince Coglianese at WMAL: “The facts don’t support what he says.”
Hunter sent the message from his father’s Delaware home. According to The Washington Free Beacon, Biden was pictured at his father’s Delaware residence on July 30, 2017. Hunter’s claim that he was likely high that day could raise questions since he was driving his dad’s Corvette with his daughter and a friend that day.
It is unlikely that Biden’s message had been sent to the incorrect recipient, because Zhao, the CEFC China Energy official, responded to the threatening text message with a promise to rectify their disagreement.
“Copy. I will call you on WhatsApp,” Zhao responded, according to records released by the House Oversight Committee.
The threats worked too. CEFC China Energy sent $100,000 in cash to Owasco LLC, one of Biden’s family businesses. A few days later they sent another $5,000,000 over to Hudson West III, Biden’s joint venture firm.
No matter how you look at it, Hunter Biden has committed perjury and should face up to five years in prison.
