Elon Musk and the presumed Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump met at Mar-a-Lago recently to discuss an “infusion of cash” for his campaign.
The New York Times reported Tuesday that Musk had visited Trump’s Florida property as the former President sought a “cash injection” to help his campaign.

Musk has a history with Trump and they have sparred on social media in the past.

The Times reports that Musk believes that Joe Biden will be defeated by Trump in November.
Musk has not made it clear if he plans to use any of his wealth on behalf of Mr. Trump. His recent social media posts indicate that he believes it is essential that Mr. Biden lose in November. People who have spoken privately with Mr. Musk confirmed this view.
According to a person close to Mr. Musk, his history of dealing with the government made him cautious about aligning himself too strongly with one party or the other. The billionaire famously quit two business advisory boards in 2017 when President Trump pulled out of the Paris Climate Agreement.
The person said that Musk’s concern about the flood of illegal immigration would have “significantly motivated” his decision if he had backed Trump.
Musk said yesterday that the United States will fall apart if it does not regain control of its borders, which has been lost since Joe Biden assumed office in January 2021.
