Joe Biden’s performance at the State of the Union Address on Thursday night was crucial. The White House understood that he had to do more than anyone else to allay concerns about his age and cognitive decline. The mainstream media played a part in bolstering this narrative affirming Biden’s presidential competency. The media chose the same word from the thesaurus as a way to describe his speech: “fiery.”
I’m certain it was a mere coincidence.
It didn’t work with those of us who heard and saw Biden’s angry and loud delivery, punctuated with constant slurring. Biden’s performance was deemed by one expert to have the telltale signs that he had been medicated.
Dr. Carole Lieberman is a forensic psychiatrist who specializes in dementia patients. She pointed out that Biden’s increased speed and voice during the speech, as opposed to his normally slow and stumbling manner, could be an indication of stimulant use, possibly Adderall or other amphetamines.
Lieberman, a Washington Times reporter, said, “Adderall is given to focus attention. If you give it ahead of an important event like the State of the Union to someone who’s not focused it will improve their concentration.” It’s not boosting your brain, but treating symptoms, and it is addictive.
Biden’s performance at the State of the Union was far from his usual self, despite Lieberman’s compelling theory.
Biden was his usual low-energy and glitchy self during a brief meeting with reporters at Joint Base Andrews. His explanation of his use of “illegals” as a term to describe illegal immigrants, which irked some in his party, was, to put it mildly, not impressive.
“Do you regret using the word ‘illegal’ to describe immigrants last night?”

Biden’s campaign speech on Friday in Philadelphia, Penn. was almost a carbon copy of his State of the Union address, but it was a disaster.

He said, at one point, “Pennsylvania I have a special message for you. Send me to Congress!”

Fact Check: He is running for President, not Congress.
Biden also botched his favorite subject, the Capitol Riot. “Last evening at the U.S. Capitol – the same building where the attack on our freedoms occurred on the 6th of July!”

How is it possible that a man who has made the Capitol Riot a major issue in his campaign for the past three years could get the date incorrect when mentioning it?
Biden’s boast that he had demonstrated fiscal responsibility was another cringe-worthy moment. He said, “We have added more debt to the nation than any president during his entire term!”

It doesn’t matter if the statement is technically correct or not. He didn’t mean to say it. I can guarantee that those words did not appear on the teleprompter.
Biden’s off-script comment that “you can’t win again” was not a gem.

Although this is technically correct, it is not what Biden intended to say.
Then there was that moment when he forgot the name of the Federal Reserve.

Is this a healthy man? What caused the dramatic shift in delivery that occurred less than 24 hours prior? There was a clear difference.
Funny because people have forgotten that Biden still has eight months of campaigning left. A single night of “fierce” will not change the public’s perception that Biden is too old and senile for president. The man who appeared on Friday will be the same man at White House and campaign events.
