It’s possible that you don’t have the moral high ground when Satan supports your cause. But it’s clear from recent events in Phoenix that there are no lessons to be learned. The drag performer, who called herself “Daddy Satan”, was scheduled to perform at a “Drag Show for Palestine,” in Phoenix, on Saturday night. But this spectacular display of unintentionally revealing moralizing was canceled due to a backlash. Who could have possibly objected to this splendid display of leftist craziness?
CBS 12 Phoenix reported on Monday that “Daddy Satan” had informed them of the cancellation. Ms. Satan was scheduled to perform in an event with the stunning drag queens, “Pissunderstood,” and “Jacon The Box,” who are cultural trailblazers. The celebration of depravity and perversion was to begin at Palabras Bilingual Bookstore, Phoenix, at 6 PM on Saturday. It was described as “a night of Drag and Community, as we gather in support of Palestine at Palabras Book Store.”
Unfortunately, voices of commonsense and sanity – what the left calls hate, heteronormativity, and racism – ruined the party. Satan thanked all those involved with the event, and then he went into full victim mode. “To anyone facing bullying because of this, I am so sorry!” I wanted to bring joy to activists and express our anger, grief and hopes in the community. “I never meant for anyone to be caught in the crossfires, including @palabras_bookstore. I’m sorry that people have been throwing hatred towards them.”
Ms. Satan continued to address the “my beautiful Drag entertainers” saying, “You were supposed to help people to process this terrible period in history and to give us hope and happiness so that we can all join and continue to fight for Justice.” It’s my fault that you all have received so much hate. She does not mention anything illegal like threats. All they received was some criticism about the absurdity of the event.
Satan responded directly to this “hatred”: “The majority of comments were the same,” she said. “A lot were saying, ‘Why not try this drag show and see what the people think?'” I didn’t have to travel to another country to find out how they treat queers. She said that she was horrified by the way queer people are treated in America. When people told her that people of “Palestine’s” dominant religion wouldn’t welcome her or her kind, she responded magnanimously: “Anyone can have a belief system different than mine.” People can hate queers as much as they want, but I won’t condone genocide because someone is different. That is why I’ll continue to move on to the next great thing. “A FREE PALESTINE MEANS A FREE WORLD.”
Well, that’s swell. It’s not only that Gazans have a “different belief system”; Islam also mandates the death penalty for homosexuality following Muhammad’s command: “Whoever is found doing the act of the people from Lot, execute both the perpetrator and the victim.” (Sunan Abu Dawud, 4462). A Muslim cleric from Britain recently said that Allah did not grant victory to the Palestinians due to the large number of homosexuals attending pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the West.
In this context, Ms. Satan’s Drag Show for Palestine, and the organization “Queers for Palestine” were not only stupid but also downright wrongheaded. It was refreshingly forthright, however, that a drag artist calling herself “Daddy Satan,” would come out strongly for the Palestinian issue. Hamas is the one that’s calling for a ceasefire. If Hamas survives then there will be more Israeli massacres like the ones we witnessed on October 7th. Does Satan endorse Palestine? What a perfect fit.
