Trump’s Potential VP Pick Set for Summer Wedding Right After GOP Convention

Sen. Tim Scott, a South Carolina senator who is a leading candidate to be the running mate of former President Donald Trump on the Republican presidential ticket in 2024, plans to marry his fiancee Mindy Noce early this August.

The wedding will take place in a relatively calm period of presidential campaigning, after the Republican National Convention held in Milwaukee from July 15-18 and before the Democratic National Convention which takes place in Chicago on August 19-22. It is also likely to be during the Summer Olympics in Paris (July 26 -August 11).

Nate Brand, Scott’s spokesman, confirmed that the wedding will be held in South Carolina.

The 58-year-old senator, who is now a Senator of the United States, was the only Republican presidential candidate to run for the White House in the past year who had never been married.

Scott highlighted at a political gathering in Iowa, in September, that he “was dating a lovely Christian woman,” as he spoke to a large number of influential faith-based voters in the state which traditionally kicks off the GOP’s presidential nomination calendar.

In early November, Scott and Noce, an interior designer from the Charleston area, who is a mother of three, appeared together on stage for the first time.

Scott, who was engaged in the past but never married two decades earlier, revealed that he met Noce more than a month ago at a church in South Carolina.

Scott’s presidential campaign ended on November 13, after failing to gain any traction. Scott endorsed Trump at an event in mid-January. This was just before the New Hampshire presidential primary.

Scott announced on social media that he was engaged to Noce the same weekend.

Trump, at that time, called the news of the engagement “the biggest story there is.”

“We never thought this would happen,” Trump joked on the campaign trail. “What’s going on?”

According to sources within the political orbit of the former president, Scott is one of the few people Trump seriously considers as his nominee for vice president. Scott is the only Black Republican senator and enjoys a high rating among GOP voters.
