There was controversy over the weekend after Joe Biden declared on Good Friday, that Easter Sunday would be a “Transgender Day of Visibility.”
As we’ve noted, this wasn’t his first proclamation. It was his fourth. The fact that he announced it on Easter, before mentioning the Christian holiday, and after removing religious displays from the Easter Egg Design Contest got a lot of people talking.
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-LA, was one of them. He criticized his proclamation for Easter Sunday.
Biden’s response when asked about the Easter Egg Roll.
Q: “Speaker Johnson called it outrageous that Easter Sunday was the transgender day of visibility, what do you say to Speaker Johnson?”
Biden: He’s completely uninformed.
Q: “Uninformed how?”
Biden: “I did not do that.”
That’s strange because he did indeed do that. Joe Biden has once again made an utterly absurd comment. He is trying to backtrack in response to the backlash. Does he know what he is doing, or does he just not care? It raises questions as to whether he is the one running the show.
It is a fact that the president issued a proclamation declaring Sunday, Easter, as “Transgender Day of Visibility.” He may be trying to claim that he didn’t choose that date. However, the date has been recognized/marked since 2009. He’s also the first Oval Office occupant to proclaim on the subject, and he does it every year. He can’t deny he made the proclamation this year, on Easter. That is what he appears to be doing.
Karine Jean-Pierre, White House Press Secretary, has accused the Republicans of “misinformation”.
In reality, Biden is spreading “misinformation,” if he tries to convince us that he did not issue the proclamation.
