Joe Biden is a serial fabulist. He says anything that pops into his head to please his audience, to bolster his ego, or to attack political opponents. We’ve heard it time and again as he talks about his Puerto Rican, black, civil rights activist, truck-driving background.
He is in Pennsylvania to do some campaigning. Reporters managed to ask him a few questions as he left Scranton for Pittsburgh. He told them the story of his uncle who landed in a region with cannibals. We all knew there would be issues with this, and it’s here.
Biden tells a story about his grandfather being “shot down in an area where there were a lot of cannibals” before recounting the debunked “suckers and losers” hoax for the second time in less than a day pic.twitter.com/KufaTlmCz1

He claimed that his uncle, Lieutenant Ambrose Finnegan Jr., was “shot down” while flying over New Guinea in a mission for which he had volunteered because “someone could not make it.” Biden stated that he was shot down near a cannibal population. He said they never found his uncle’s corpse but recovered parts of the aircraft.
Biden said that he thought about the former president Trump, who allegedly refused to attend a “memorial in Paris for veterans” and called them “a bunch of losers and suckers.”
Let’s begin with the last lie. It was widely debunked that Trump did not go to a graveyard and make that comment.
According to records from the time, Biden’s story about his uncle was wrong in almost every aspect.
Unsurprisingly, Biden has made up most of this war story.
Lt. Ambrose Finnegan was a ground crew member and ordinance officer, not a reconnaissance pilot.
In 1944, Finnegan was the passenger of an A-20 (a twin-engine, not single-engine plane) that ditched, it wasn’t shot down.… https://t.co/xxIb5dreOB pic.twitter.com/xrn1WuAbTh

Ambrose Finnegan, not a pilot of reconnaissance, was part of the ground crew. He was a passenger in the plane that crashed. The plane was not shot. There were probably no cannibals in the middle of the ocean because the plane fell into the water. Finnegan was on the plane when it went down and his body has never been recovered. One crew member has been found and rescued.
Why would he include cannibals in a story such as this? This is beyond creepy. What is he trying to say? He is implying that his uncle was eaten up by cannibals. He repeated it in Pittsburgh.
Biden just told this story again for the second time today: He claimed his uncle was a pilot, was shot down over Guinea and eaten by cannibals.

He’s once again trying to use a false account about a member of his family to attack Trump over something he has never said. He has in the past claimed that his son Beau died in battle, and now he brings him up again.
Biden, however, is doing his family and uncle a disservice when he embellishes details about his uncle that are not true.
“And that’s when Sergeant Bagheera re-innerdeuced me to Private Mowgli. We got along well as we were both practically raised by wolves for a good part our childhoods. Shere Khan was a dictator back then, he was a bab…dude.” https://t.co/VsKedBI8FN
