Hawley’s Fiery Exchange with Mayorkas Sends Shockwaves: What Happened with Laken Riley?

As we previously reported, the Senate impeachment trial for Department of Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas was denied by cowardly Democrats led by Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (DNY), on Wednesday. They wiped out more than two centuries of Senate precedents to save Joe Biden going into November.

Sen. Mike Lee, R. Utah, in a passionate speech, highlighted one of his key points when he opposed Schumer. He correctly pointed out that Mayorkas had indeed been accused of crimes that could lead to impeachment, such as “knowingly false statements”.

“What are we doing if this isn’t a serious offense or misdemeanor, if this isn’t an impeachable offense?” Lee questioned rhetorically his co-workers while Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) tried to silence him.

Other Republican Senators like Josh Hawley from Missouri are also upset that Mayorkas can’t be tried. Hawley brought the issue up during Thursday’s hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, where Mayorkas was scheduled to testify.

Hawley presented receipts for the murders of Laken Riley (a 22-year-old Augusta University nursing student) and Jose Antonio Ibarra (a 26-year-old Venezuelan illegal alien), to show how the open-border policies adopted by Biden and Mayorkas have caused Americans to suffer, and in some cases, even to be killed.

The seven-and-a-half-minute clip below, which is an indictment not just of Mayorkas and Biden but also of every House and Senate Democrat who has enabled their abject failures on the border crisis, is well worth watching in full:

We reported also that, a week before, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) confronted Mayorkas at a Senate Appropriations Committee Hearing to try and get him to admit that our porous border could help Democrats with reapportionment.

He said: “It’s a known fact, but a fact. The more illegal immigrants that you allow into the country, the more votes will be allocated for reapportionment. This may just be a coincidence, but it’s a proven fact. “You know this but you’ve done nothing for four years.

Sen. Kennedy wasn’t done. He claimed that illegal immigrants were the only ones in his country who had improved their lives since 4 years earlier. “I do not hate you or anyone else, but I was impeached because of your policies. ”

Mayorkas avoided an impeachment proceeding, but Republican senators have made it clear they won’t let him off. Mayorkas would probably wish the impeachment proceedings had been held, even if just to avoid daily criticisms.
