The top Iranian generals said that their country’s attack against Israel on Sunday “achieved” its goals, even though air defenses in the U.S. and Israel intercepted the majority of the barrage.
The generals Mohammad Bagheri, and Hossein Salaami answered questions about the attack that took place on Sunday.
The generals claimed that Israel’s air defenses were “incapable” of handling the attack.
The generals also said that “the U.S. did not thwart this operation.”
Iran launched 300 missiles and drones at Israel on Saturday. Approximately 99% were intercepted. In a late-night statement, President Biden called the Israeli defense “remarkable”.
Biden stated that “Israel showed a remarkable ability to defend and defeat even unimaginable attacks, sending a message to its enemies that they could not effectively threaten the safety of Israel.”
Israel has shared video footage of its air defenses in action above the Temple Mount, Jerusalem.
