Jemele Hill’s Explosive Induction into the Projection Hall of Fame: A Scathing Rant on Caitlin Clark and the ‘Sports Race Wars’

Is Caitlin “Clark” involved in a sports race war, after she helped her team to a Final Four spot against LSU Monday night? Jemele Hills has always been able to turn any issue into a diatribe against “white supremacy”.

Hill said that Clark was being used as a scapegoat in an alleged race war by people “projecting” their assumptions on her.

I don’t know Clark. Maybe she’s a “wonderful and kind soul from Iowa, representing the middle of America.” Does Hill know if she is? Is it racist to consider Clark, a native of Iowa and the literal definition of middle America, a representative of that middle America?

I don’t see any real evidence to suggest that Clark’s popularity is due to her skin tone. The fact that Clark is the best college women’s basketballer at the moment is what makes her so popular. Hill believes that Clark’s popularity is a sign that there is racial animosity involved and that others are fueling the “sports races wars.”

This is an impressive level of project.

I don’t follow women’s basketball in college, but I can tell you that the hype around Clark has not been used to fuel “white rage,” or any other term Hill might choose. The only “sports races wars” that I have seen come from Hill, who complained about black players being marginalized because of the national focus on Clark.

Many people don’t view sports from the perspective of race. It just so happens, that the woman who is currently dominating college women’s basketball is white. Hill, however, views everything through a racial lens. She has a history of twisting political and sporting topics to make them racist.

She pushed, for example, the BYU racist hoax. She accused Winsome, a black woman, of being a white supremacist after she won the election in 2021. She also claimed that LSU’s Angel Reese who had mocked Clark during the 2023 tournament a year before was a victim after backlash.

Hill’s comments are often filled with racism and she accuses others of imposing their prejudices on sports. Come on, I mean. She has done more to inflame the “sports races wars” than anyone else.
