Mayorkas Impeachment Foiled: Senator Cortez Masto’s Advisor Killed by Illegal Immigrant

An 18-year-old illegal immigrant has been arrested for his involvement in the death of Kurt Englehart. Englehart was a Senior Advisor at Nevada Democrat Senator Catherine Cortez Masto. Elmer Rueda Linares, an 18-year-old illegal immigrant, is being held at the Washoe County Jail on a $100,000 bail.

Police say that on April 6, at 4:30 am, Rueda Linares was involved in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection between Kietzke Lane and Peckham Lane in Reno. Engelhardt died in this accident.

The Department of Homeland Security informed the Reno-Gazette Journal on April 8 that an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer, also known by its acronym “ICE hold”, was placed at Rueda-Linares.

According to RGJ’s spokesperson, the Department of Homeland Security is responsible for Homeland Security.

Rueda, without any inspection from an immigration official, entered the United States on March 12, 2021, at the Rio Grande City Port of Entry, Texas. United States Customs and Border Protection detained him. He was released on his recognizance by United States Customs and Border Protection on June 22, 2021.

In an interview with MSNBC, two days before Rueda Linares, a Honduran teenager 15 years old illegally entered the United States. He was arrested and then released back into the country. Sen.Cortez-Masto argued that it’s “misinformation,” to claim that the Biden Administration had allowed open borders.

Sen. Cortez Masto said,

There are no open borders. There are so many kids! The children are running for their lives.

Englehart’s son will grow up without his father because one of the “children running” is bound to take Englehart’s life.

Kerry Durmick, Englehart’s friend, wrote in an online fundraising campaign for his family.

Kurt was a wonderful father, friend, and partner. He also advocated for Nevada. We will miss him terribly. Kurt’s greatest joy in life was his son and family.

The Washoe Sheriff’s office stated that Rueda Linares had been initially charged with a felony for hit-and-run, but now the charge is failing to stop on the scene of the accident. This is a class B felon.

Nevada Revised Statutes 484E.010 states that drivers who are involved in an accident resulting in death or bodily injury must immediately stop on the scene or as near as possible. A category B felony is committed if these provisions are not followed. This is punishable by a prison sentence of at least 2 years or up to 20 years in state prison, as well as a fine of $2,000 to $5,000.

Lauren Wodarski said in a Tuesday statement to RGJ that Sen. Cortez-Masto is a strong advocate of women’s rights.

Sen. Cortez-Masto is confident in local police and prosecutors and looks forward to seeing justice done.

Senator Cortez-Masto, who defended Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas on social media, said she voted to “end this waste of time” as Mayorkas was facing articles of impeachment on Wednesday based on accusations of open borders and lenient policies on immigration.

Sen. Cortez Masto wrote,

No evidence exists that Secretary Mayorkas has committed serious crimes or misdemeanors. I therefore voted to stop this time-wasting exercise. Republicans could have implemented real policy, but instead, they chose to play games. They killed the bipartisan border plan in favor of frivolous impeachment.

Rueda Linares will appear in court on Thursday.
