Rep. Schiff’s Shocking San Francisco Robbery: Attends Ritzy Campaign Dinner with No Suit After Theft

Adam Schiff, a California Senate candidate and Rep. from San Francisco, was rudely welcomed to San Francisco Thursday after he reportedly became the victim of a theft hours before an upscale campaign dinner.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that thieves stole his bags after breaking into his car parked at a downtown garage. Schiff, who did not have business attire to wear to the event, still attended the event wearing shirt sleeves and hiking vests, according to The Chronicle. Other attendees were dressed in suits.

Schiff thanked Joe Cotchett at the dinner for his support of Schiff’s campaign to replace Dianne Feinstein, who died in December. Schiff will represent California as a senator in the U.S. Senate.

Lee Houskeeper was Cotchett’s press agent and he was present at the dinner in Burlingame at Ristorante Rocca.

Schiff, it was reported, did not seem to be perturbed by the apparent theft. He was not inside the vehicle at the time.

The Chronicle reported that the California representative stated, “Yes, my bags were taken.” “But I’m also here to thank Joe.”

Cotchett praised Schiff for his resilient demeanor.

Cotchett stated that Adam had “really shown himself tonight.” “He will be a great Senator — he is going to change the Senate enormously.”

According to KRON4, a Bay Area local news outlet, the apparent theft occurred just days after Matt Mahan’s San Jose security guard was attacked in downtown San Jose on Tuesday.

Jack Molmud, KRON4’s reporter Jack Molmud, wrote that a man fought the security guard of Mayor Matt Mahan while we were interviewing him in downtown San Jose. The fight lasted for a few minutes, and the SJPD arrested the man. The police said that they were collecting evidence to send it to the DA’s office.

San Jose Police Department said that the motives and circumstances of the altercation were under investigation.

London Breed, Mayor of San Francisco, has proposed several initiatives to combat the high levels of crime and drug abuse in a section that is known for its reputation.
