Unraveling the Car Wreck Involving Rashee Rice, Rising Star of the Kansas City Chiefs

Published on

The Dallas Police were interested in speaking with Rashee, 23, the rookie wide receiver of the Super Bowl Champions Kansas City Chiefs. The police stated that both drivers of a Lamborghini and a Chevrolet Corvette were speeding along U.S. Highway 75. Both lost control resulting in a six-car chain reaction crash. In the hours before the accident, Rice was seen with friends in a bar/restaurant called Local Tap & Table.

Dashcam footage shows the two sports cars colliding into a wall in the middle. At least three people from the Lamborghini then leave the scene, without checking if anyone else is injured. The video shows that both cars left the scene of the accident, but it also clearly shows the men who exited the Lamborghini and walked away.

Four people were injured in the car accident. The couple, consisting of a woman, 46, and a man, 42, who were involved in the accident, retained a lawyer, calling the situation frustrating. The woman says she received several stitches to close a laceration over her eye. She also claims that swelling and bruises continue. Her right leg and ankle were also swollen. She was discharged on Sunday from the hospital with a boot, and she has been bed-resting. Both the woman and man claim to be experiencing post-concussion syndrome, including light sensitivity and noise sensitivity.

According to police documents, the extent of Rice’s involvement was unclear at the weekend. However, he is listed as the driver of a Corvette registered to him. According to Kyle Coker, the attorney for Classic Lifestyle, which leased the Lamborghini vehicle, at this time it’s believed that Rice and a friend were the drivers of his Corvette. It is not known if Rice drove during the accident.

Coker claims that Rice is not only the owner but also the lessee of a Lamborghini. The leasing agreement stated that he could only drive the vehicle. Coker told TMZ Sports Rice texted him shortly after the accident to acknowledge his involvement and promise to pay for the Lamborghini.

Rice, according to Coker has been a Classic Lifestyle client since he attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Coker stated that Rice was leasing a 2021 matte-black Lamborghini at $1,749 per day.

Rice has hired Royce West, a Democrat state senator from Texas who also represents Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys Football franchise, to represent him. West released a statement Monday on behalf of his clients.

Rashee Rice sends his condolences to everyone affected by the accident that occurred on Saturday.

Rashee will work with the local authorities to resolve this issue.

The Kansas City Chiefs, as well as the NFL, are watching the situation. Chiefs President Mark Donovan stated in an interview on KCMO Talk Radio Monday:

We don’t know all the details at this time. We can take comfort in the fact that a multi-car accident occurred in Texas in Dallas. Fortunately, no one was injured and we should thank God for that. We will investigate the matter, gather all the facts, and then react.

The police confirmed that they spoke with Rice’s lawyer, but did not interview anyone who may have been involved in the crash.

Rice is a native Texan who attended Richland High School. He played football later at SMU. The Kansas City Chiefs selected him in the second round 2023 NFL Draft. Rice broke Chiefs rookie records in the regular-season with 79 receptions and seven touchdowns.
