Diddy’s Sean John Eyewear Pulled Amid Legal Storm: Major Retailer Takes Drastic Action

Sean John glasses, made by Sean “Diddy Combs”‘ clothing brand, were reportedly pulled from a major eyewear retailer. The rapper and entrepreneur is facing a growing number of lawsuits and allegations of abuse.

According to TMZ, America’s Best Contacts and Eyewear has removed Sean John products from their stores and stopped selling the brand on its website.

The outlet reported that America’s Best had instructed its retail stores via email to remove all Sean John sunglasses from display cases on Tuesday and replace them with other brands of similar price.

America’s Best, one of National Vision Holdings’ five largest retail brands, would be the next company to drop a Combs affiliated brand in the wake of his increasing legal problems.

Peloton announced last week that it will no longer be playing Combs music on its platform. This announcement came days after an eight-year-old video emerged, showing Combs grabbing Cassandra Ventura by the neck in a hotel corridor and throwing her down. Combs, after the video went viral, called Combs’ behavior “inexcusable.”

Combs was the subject of several lawsuits alleging sexual abuse, and in March Homeland Security agents raided two of his houses in connection with a human trafficking probe.

Combs launched the Sean John brand in 1997. According to Macy’s which signed a deal in 2010 to exclusively sell the sportswear collection of this brand, Combs now generates annual revenues exceeding $525 millions.

Combs sold 90% of his company in 2016 to Global Brands. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy 2021 citing the COVID-19 Pandemic. Combs purchased the brand that same year with a winning offer of over $7.5 million. This gave him full control of the business again.
