The United States House of Representatives held a vote on Wednesday evening to pass the Detain & Deport Illegal Aliens Who Assault Cops Act. This bill was originally introduced by Representative Jeff Van Drew, R-NJ. The bill intends to deport illegal aliens who attack law enforcement officers. It seems that this legislation’s value is so obvious, that it would have been better if it had received a unanimous vote. There is a reasoned argument for deporting illegal immigrants who attack police officers.

The House of Representatives passed a bill Wednesday night that would kick illegal immigrants out of America if they attack a police officer.
This is one of many pieces of legislation the House Republican leadership will be putting to a vote during National Police Week.
The bill was passed by a vote of 265 to 148, with 54 Democrats voting along with the GOP.

Jeff Van Drew (R-N.J.) is the sponsor of this bill, which is entitled Detain and Deport Unlawful Aliens who Assault Police Act.
It’s unclear what happens to the aliens charged with an assault crime. We would expect them to face trial and be jailed if found guilty. However, given the nature of prosecutorial systems in too many major cities, it may be more efficient to deport the aliens immediately and unconditionally, which is within the legal purview of federal authorities.
The bill requires that illegal immigrants be held by federal authorities until they are deported. Van Drew added that the bill would “create a category of migrant non admissibility”, specifically for illegal immigrants accused of assaulting a police officer.
The No. Tom Emmer, R. Minnesota, the Majority Whip of the House Republican Party, said to Fox News Digital that when this bill was passed, “House Democrats voted for protection against our brave law officers.” The Democrat Party has once again proven that they are the anti-law enforcement party in history.

The ideal solution would be to deport anyone who enters the country illegally for whatever reason. This is regardless of what they do once they are here. The illegal immigrants broke the law when they came here. Since 2020, the number of illegal immigration encounters has increased at the southern borders.
In polls, illegal immigration is almost always the number one issue. The GOP has a big advantage on this issue. Biden’s administration is finally recognizing this and is reversing some of its policies on illegal immigration.
