Caitlin continues to make the WNBA relevant, while the other players seem determined to keep Spirit Airlines in business.
Clark and his Indiana Fever team met the Chicago Sky on Sunday for the second time this season. It was a heated and contentious match. You might remember Chennedy (pronounced “Kennedy”) Carter’s cheap shot on Clark during their first meeting.

Angel Reese congratulated Carter on the bench, a Sky forward who considers herself Clark’s arch-nemesis. Reese, who considers herself Clark’s nemesis, congratulated Carter at the bench.

Because things move so quickly on the court, I can’t say with certainty that she intended to hit her in the face like that. Reese, at the very least was badly beaten and, instead of repositioning herself, she swung mindlessly out of frustration. It is notable that Reese ended up with a 4 for 13 performance, one of her lowest of the season. The Fever won again.

What was Reese’s response? Was her response to be a good sport and congratulate the opponent for a well-earned victory? Was it to tell her she had to improve? No, of course not. She complained about the referees and claimed that she was victimized, despite having almost cut off Clark’s head.

Angel Reese is the only person I know who would like to continue flying on discount airlines throughout their entire career. Is anyone concerned that this behavior will not keep new WNBA fans interested? Does it make the league look pathetic and unwatchable to new fans? I’m fairly confident that the answer is no.
These women should be thrilled that Clark’s attendance has reached a record high. They seem to be adamant about prioritizing their complaints. Reese may be a great player, but her childish behavior is not helping her brand or league. She needs to grow up and learn how to be gracious. Will she do it? I doubt it.
