Border Patrol has heard it all when it comes to people trying to smuggle in illegal immigrants.

A recent report discusses how smugglers attempt to avoid authorities while transporting people over the southern border.

The drivers leaving a border city with a vehicle packed with people said that they were going to visit family in Houston to attend a funeral in Houston or Dallas, and travel with friends.

The Center Square reported that they “never knew their names” (of those being transported), even if the claimant claimed to be family. The investigator is not named as he works in secret.

OLS is the border security mission of Gov. The Center Square reported that Greg Abbott’s border-security mission is the OLS Task Force, which involves multiple law enforcement agencies.

“I have seen people hide in a toolbox, and [the driver] claims he is just taking them for a ride.” The OLS investigator also said that they stopped a driver who had a man hiding under the floorboard of his vehicle.

One driver who was pulled over by an OLS Task Force in Kleberg County, told The Center Square that he had been “heading south to check out a jobsite.” He was from Houston, but was heading to a small city near a Border Patrol checkpoint in order to do a landscaping project. We got into a chase about an hour later with him heading northbound, and he was carrying illegal immigrants.

OLS officers report that many people they stop driving from or to the border say they’re looking for a job or visiting friends. “But most of the time, they can’t provide an exact location or tell you who they will be seeing,” they said. An officer told The Center Square that most people who claim to be visiting someone can only provide a first or last name, and cannot answer further questions.

DPS spokesperson Lieutenant Chris Olivarez informed reporters that most of the drivers caught by DPS “are not from Eagle Pass or Del Rio where we see a majority of human trafficking.” They are driving from San Antonio to Eagle Pass and Del Rio.

Olivarez said that the individuals “providing GPS coordinates for the pickup of these individuals who are crossing the border in an illegal manner” are doing so to “pick up the individuals”. However, when stopped “they attempt to distance themselves from criminal activity.”

The spokesperson warned of possible terrorists being brought into the country. This issue has raised concerns over protecting national security.

The border authorities are very good at preventing people from entering the United States. Even they cannot stop the flood of illegals crossing the border, as the Biden Administration continues to do very little to solve the problem.

Border crisis not only put strain on major cities and border towns, but also many people who were legally in the country. Christopher Wray, FBI Director, spoke about the threats that come from the southern border earlier this year. He highlighted the arrest of terrorists who tried to enter the United States.

He also spoke about the threat of fentanyl being brought into the country by unknowing Americans.

“From the FBI’s perspective, we see a wide range of very dangerous threats coming from the border. The FBI has seized enough fentanyl to kill 270,000,000 people in the past two years.
