‘Just Stop Oil’ Activists Target Stonehenge—Historic Site’s Account and Community Notes Deliver Epic Clapback

Radicals have no qualms about their actions when it comes to promoting an anti-fossil energy agenda. From destroying famous works of artwork to blocking traffic by gluing themselves on roads, radicals have done it all. Last month, they even attacked the Magna Carta.

They have done nothing to reduce the use of fossil fuels. It makes people angry, even those who may agree with them. This brings together the right, and some liberals to condemn such actions.

They went to the extreme when they attacked Stonehenge using orange powder.

Stonehenge’s solstice celebrations are all about the natural world, but look how it is in its current state! “We all have the right to a life without suffering. But continued burning of coal, oil and gas leads to death and pain on an unprecedented scale,” said Niamh, a 21-year-old Oxford University student who took part in the stunt.

They are utterly self-absorbed. They believe that what they want is more important than anything else, including protecting ancient historical monuments. They tried to justify their actions by claiming that they would not harm the monument.

The claim was that the material they sprayed on the monument would “soon wash away with rain” but the need for government action in order to mitigate the devastating consequences of climate change and the ecological crisis would not.

Let’s look at it this way: The environment is being damaged. So, why not damage a historical site that is ancient and has no relation to whatever they are yelling, or to the oil industry. What kind of sense does this make?

The Stonehenge X and Community Notes accounts didn’t accept that excuse and just nuked them.

The Stonehenge account stated that “Stonehenge was protected by the Ancient Monuments Act and it’s a crime to damage the Stones.”

The people who were involved did not hold back when they told what was likely to happen. “There are multiple rare lichens growing on the stone that are also protected.” Expect a jail sentence.”

The activists were also slapped with community notes that stated “Stonehenge was a UNESCO World Heritage Site.” Multiple protection orders are in place. “Any damage to the site constitutes a criminal offense.”

The characters in this video don’t seem aware that they are only making people upset and not helping their cause.

The suspects were arrested for criminal damage, damaging a monument of antiquity and preventing a person from carrying out a lawful act.

English Heritage claimed that the orange paint was removed with a “specialist hand-held blower”.

The BBC was told that the damage could have been severe if the powder had come in contact with rain.

They may have suffered real consequences for being arrested and charged with damaging an ancient monument.
