Navy SEAL Tim Sheehy won the Republican nomination out of a field consisting of three candidates for the highly anticipated Montana Senate Race to unseat Democratic Senator Jon Tester from the state.
Sheehy won the GOP nomination in the Tuesday primary after a strong showing from the conservative leadership of Congress.
“America is at a crossroads, and we need new leaders to save the country,” Sheehy stated that the reckless agenda of Joe Biden, Jon Tester, has led to a rise in food, housing and energy costs, as well as an open border which allows illegal immigrants, drugs and crime into our country.
“As a Navy Seal, I have always put my country first. I am running for the U.S. Senate because I want to stop Joe Biden’s and Jon Tester’s inflation. I also want to seal our border and secure our children’s future. I will put America First!” “I am humbled by the support I have received and look forward in retiring Jon Tester, the pro-Biden liberal and the number one recipient of lobbyist money,” he said.
In the Montana primary, Brad Johnson, former secretary of state for Montana, was defeated by Navy SEALs.
Former President Trump and GOP presidential nominee, Donald Trump, also endorsed the conservative who is a Purple Heart winner. Trump called him an “American Hero.”
“I LOVE MONTANA!” Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social account. “Tim Sheehy is an American Hero and highly successful Businessman from the Great State of Montana. He is strongly supported by our incredible Chairman of the NRSC, Steve Daines, and many other patriotic Senators and Republicans who have endorsed our Campaign to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
The Republicans see the Big Sky State, where Democrat Tester is trying to retain his seat for a 4th term in the red-state of Montana, as their best chance of regaining control of the Senate.
Sheehy claims that Tester changes his views in election years.
“You know what he is like. He’s a liberal and a progressive who is devoted to his cause five years out of six. Sheey said in November that he “votes in lockstep with Schumer and Biden, as well as every other progressive across the country.” “And then for his election year he tries shifting back to the middle and acting like he is a moderate.”
Sheehy was quickly chosen by the Senate Republicans to face Tester in the November election, after receiving the endorsements of Sens. Steve Daines, R. Montana, Marco Rubio R. Florida, Tom Cotton R. Arkansas, Cindy Hyde Smith R. Miss. Ted Budd R. N.C. Markwayne Mullin R. Oklahoma, Bill Hagerty R. Tennessee, Marsha Blackburn R. Tennessee, and John Barrasso R. Wyoming.
The Navy SEAL was also endorsed by Montana’s Republican Gov. Greg Gianforte and Gov. Kristi Noem, R-S.D.
