It was a line so clever that it calmed many fears. It showed that Reagan was sharper than ever and more intelligent than his 56-year-old rival. The line was so funny that it made Mondale laugh. It was an amazing moment that made everyone fall for Reagan and push him into the White House. This is still regarded as one of the greatest moments in the history of presidential debates.

Elections can be won or lost by a single moment in time. This is not really about luck but rather how people react to situations collectively. We all watched yesterday as President Joe Biden blew it during his debate against former President Donald Trump. Even his media cheerleaders put down their pompoms and suggested that Joe should be put in a retirement home.

He should have been here years ago. But here we are.

This perfectly summarizes what many people have said and felt about Biden over the years. The old man is a doddering old man who has passed his “use-by” date and is trying to pretend that he’s still cognitively capable. This is at the request of his handlers as well as his supporters and wife.

If I were a betting man, I would say that this is the moment when Democrats, including Biden’s media guardians, put their hands to their faces and the word “replacement” went from being a polite suggestion into an urgent necessity.

Biden’s not at his best. It’s been a while since he was at his best, and things are only getting worse. It’s starting to feel and look like elder abuse. The constant water-carrying, the excuses for all his gaffes and fumbles, and the denial of truth are becoming more and more common. It’s painfully obvious that they cannot win with Trump. That moment of relatability was what made everyone realize this. The moment when Democrats realized they were deceiving themselves was that moment.

The media will do everything they can to forget this moment. The media will try to forget this moment, but those who witnessed it will never forget it. When they go to the polling booth, they’ll also remember. They will remember it, along with the economic catastrophe, rising crime rates, inflation, open borders, radical policies, and more.
