In new video footage provided by House Republicans, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), then Speaker of the House, admits that she was responsible for not having the National Guard guard the Capitol Building ahead of the January 2021 protests.
Politico reports that the footage was recorded by Alexandra Pelosi (the daughter of the former Speaker) and provided by HBO to congressional investigators. It was not aired, nor was it given to the January 6 Committee, which was supposed to be investigating the Capitol Riot.
🚨 Since January 6, 2021, Nancy Pelosi spent 3+ years and nearly $20 million creating a narrative to blame Donald Trump.

Pelosi’s J6 Select Committee spent taxpayer’s money chasing false political narratives and using Hollywood producers for their ‘investigation.’

The January 6 Committee never asked Speaker Pelosi nor her daughter to provide documents relating to the riot.
The video supports the claims of former President Donald Trump, who asserted that Pelosi had failed to provide adequate security for the protest. Trump had offered the National Guard to the “Stop the Steal” rally, but it was rejected. Critics later blamed Trump, claiming he did not send the Guard quickly enough during the riot.
In the video, Pelosi laments: “We had responsibility… We did not have any accountability for what was happening there. We should have. Why wasn’t the National Guard already there?”
She continued: “I accept responsibility for not having [the National Guard] prepare for war.”
Pelosi then rejected Republican nominees to fill minority positions in the January 6 Committee—the first time a leader of the major party has done this—and instead hand-picked two anti-Trump Republicans. The investigation was completely biased and did not question Pelosi’s role.
Prosecutors have used the proceedings of the investigation in criminal cases against Trump and his supporters, despite its one-sidedness.
