Hearings on Capitol Hill revealed interesting information and testimony about the assassination attempt against Donald Trump, former president, on the 13th of July 2017. Kim Cheatle was the former Secret Service Director, who was severely criticized during her testimony on Monday by the House Oversight Committee. She then resigned.
On Tuesday, the House Homeland Security Committee conducted an additional hearing (for which Cheatle and her boss Alejandro Mayorkas from DHS declined to attend). Both witnesses, Colonel Christopher L. Paris, (Commissioner of Pennsylvania State Police), and Patrick Yoes, (National President of Fraternal Order of Police), tried at least to provide helpful testimony and shed some light on what happened.
On Wednesday morning, FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before the House Judiciary Committee regarding the FBI’s investigation into the assassination attempt on President Trump and the alleged politicization of the agency under Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland.
