Joe Manchin, a West Virginia senator, told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Sunday that he wanted President Joe Biden to hand over the torch. He also suggested that his neighbors Andy Beshear and Josh Shapiro, governors of Kentucky and Pennsylvania, might be a good choice for such a task. This was before Biden announced that he would not seek re-election.
