It’s easy to say “Well, it didn’t take that long,” but these Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Kamala Harris weren’t the first. Tennessee Rep. Andy Ogles filed the first Article of Impeachment in June 2023 against Harris.

During her tenure at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency as designated border czar in December 2022 the agency “encountered 251,978 illegal immigrants at the southwest border, the highest total monthly ever recorded.
Ogles published a second piece on Tuesday after Harris became the presumptive Democrat presidential nominee in the wake of Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the race.

The second article, entitled “Breach Public Trust”, asserts that
Kamala Devi Harris knowingly misled the American people and the Congress of the United States to obscure the physical and mental well-being of the United States President, Joe Biden. Kamala Devi Harris committed this course of conduct by using the following methods:
(1) Kamala Devi Harris failed to invoke the procedural provisions of the 25th Amendment of the Constitution of the United States despite a clear moral duty to do so. This was especially true after Joe Biden announced on Sunday, July 21, 2024, that he will no longer seek the Democratic nomination for the United States presidency in 2024.
(2) Kamala Devi Harris refused to answer questions about President Joe Biden’s tragic cognitive decline. She specifically refused to say when she first noticed the decline or how long she was aware that the President could no longer discharge his duties. Kamala Devi Harris has violated public trust by failing to meet basic transparency expectations and showing a severe lack of integrity.
The new filing also adds more details to Article I of the Immigration Laws, which is entitled “Willful refusal to enforce the Immigration Laws.”
The filing lists several crimes that have been alleged to be committed by illegal immigrants, such as the death, of a student, Laken Riley. This has been highlighted by Republicans in particular. It also includes recent statistics on border crossings.
The articles stated that “Kamala Devi Harris has willfully and systematically refused to uphold immigration laws and failed to control the border, compromising public safety and violating the rule of law to the obvious injury of Americans.”
The initial filing has been introduced, but it has not gone any further. It remains to be determined if the new filing is pushed past its initial introduction.
