While speculation swirls around the frenetic campaign to replace Joe Biden, and who might that replacement be, several blue state governors, such as Gavin Newsom of California and Michigan’s Gretchen Whitmer, have been reported and discussed.
Vice President Kamala Harris has been almost an afterthought.
You’d assume that if there was a discussion about replacing the president, the default response would be to keep the veep in place.
We are not living in normal times. This is not a hypothetical scenario. And Kamala Harris, who has led a country through difficult times, is not the typical vice president. Her knowledge of leading a country could fit in a thimble, with room to spare.
Harris, who was a failed presidential nominee, was picked for 2020 in a DEI-like manner, as Joe Biden was at the time under intense pressure from powerful Democrats, to choose a woman of color for his VP nomination or else. He chose Harris to placate the wokesters within his party. The same people who now threaten to “blow up the party” if the DNC ignores Harris if Biden were to be replaced by a white male.
Matt Stoller, a left-leaning author and political commentator, explains the open secret about Kamala.
It’s an open secret that Kamala Harris is stupid and isn’t good at campaigning. Are we going to pretend that we can move from one open secret about Biden’s senility straight to another one about the next nominee? Don’t answer that.

It will be fun to watch Kamala Harris mishandle question after question the gist of which is “What did you know about Biden’s condition and when did you know it?”
What’s she going to do? Pivot to her ideas on tackling inflation?

This was already a kind of preview when CNN’s Anderson Cooper asked Harris about the reactions to Biden’s disastrous performance in the debate. Here is a video clip of that exchange.
ANDERSON COOPER: “[Biden] was a very different person on the stage four years ago when you debated him. That’s certainly true, is it not?!”
KAMALA HARRIS: “I got the point that you’re making…The last three and a half years, up until today, performed in a way…” pic.twitter.com/NWiqGigj2z

It won’t improve if you just cringe like crazy. Kamala Harris will always be this way, never able to handle the pressure of the moment or expect to be treated with respect because her vice president is a historical “first”.
Here’s another “first” in modern times for Kamala. Democrats aren’t interested in elevating the vice president in this case to the role of presidential nominee because they know she isn’t very good at her job.
The Democrats have confirmed in their way, that much of what conservative critics had said about Kamala Harris and her “skills”, was accurate. Similarly, much of the criticism of Joe Biden, since his inauguration, was also true.
Toldjah So is even shorter and to the point. As John McClane from Die Hard would say: “Welcome, pal.”
