In less than one week, the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, will start. Many people speculate about the former president Trump’s running-mate, and when that announcement would be made.
Former President Trump is giving some hints.
During his appearance on “Sean Hannity”, Trump said he would like to perform at the convention.
In an interview, Trump stated that “my people,” had told him the issue was “a bit complex.”
“It’s unlikely that much will happen before the convention.” He stated, “It might happen even at the convention.”
As for whom he’ll choose, Sean Hannity mentioned four names that are generally considered to be on Trump’s shortlist – Sens. Marco Rubio of Florida, JD Vance of Ohio, and Tim Scott of South Carolina, as well as North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum.
The former President replied: “We are considering the names you have mentioned.”
He continued, “We have a lot of good people.” “We have, as people say, a great Republican Party Bench.”
Trump said: “I don’t have a final decision, but I have some ideas on where we should go. ”
This statement is different than the one Trump made during his campaign stop in Philadelphia last month when he stated that he knew who his running mate was but had not revealed this to them.
When asked by NBC News if he had chosen a running mate yet, Trump responded “Yeah I think so.”
The former president replied, “Nobody knows.”
In his Fox News interview on Monday, the former President said he should choose a running mate who “can do great work as president” as well as “who can help you get elected”.
Trump continues to give hints despite being convicted of 34 felonies in the nation’s very first criminal trial for a president, or former president, in history. He seems to enjoy the intrigue and speculation surrounding his decision to name a vice presidential nominee.
Trump has heard from multiple sources that Burgum, Vance, and Rubio are the top contenders.
Rubio will join Trump on Tuesday at Trump’s Doral Golf Club in Miami, Florida.
Trump’s campaign continues to deny the rumors. Trump’s campaign has continued to deny the rumors.
“Anyone claiming to know who or when President Trump will choose his VP is lying, unless the person is named Donald J. Trump,” Trump campaign senior adviser Brian Hughes said.
