According to court documents that were unveiled on Monday, the FBI arrested District of Columbia Councilmember Trayon white for allegedly taking more than $150,000.00 in bribes for helping companies get city contracts.
White made headlines in 2018 when he suggested that the Rothschilds control the weather and various other aspects of society. This is a well-known antisemitic conspiracy theory.
According to an affidavit submitted to the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, the authorities claim White committed several offenses relating to bribery as well as using his influence to grant favors for various businesses.
White is accused of accepting a $20,000 bribe in exchange for his use of his position to settle a contract dispute involving the company of the source and the District of Columbia. According to the affidavit, White sent a text message referencing an alleged attempt to coerce the government employee into resolving the dispute.
The document states: “Last Time we were trying to do this… That shit messed up my relationship… Because I was going…I ain’t going to lie because we tried to get [Government employee 1] to agree to something and then he never responded.”
White allegedly accepted approximately $156,000 from CHS 1 in kickbacks to renew multiple contracts with the Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement and the Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services. The councilmember allegedly reported that he “followed up with Government Employee 2, but that he/she wasn’t very helpful” and “To circumvent Government Employee 2, WHITE stated that he contacted two DYRS staff members.”
According to the affidavit, White and the source had agreed that White should receive a kickback of three percent on each contract.
The document claims that at another time in 2024, White received four bribes totaling approximately $35,000 from CH 1, in exchange for additional help in securing contracts.
White represents a ward with a majority of black residents on the council. The district’s poverty rate is double that of the rest of the country.
In 2018, the council member filmed and posted a video on Facebook in which he claimed that the snowy weather was the result of the Rothschilds’ machinations.
Trayon Sr., a D.C. Council Member (D-Ward 8), posted the video on his Facebook page at 7 :21 am as snow was falling in the nation’s capitol. The video was shot through the window of a car traveling west on Interstate 695 in downtown Washington. White narrates.
Man, it snowed out of the blue this morning. “Y’all had better pay attention to climate control, man. This climate manipulation,” says he. “And D.C. keeps talking about ‘We are a resilient city’. That’s a Rothschild model, where they control the climate to create natural catastrophes so they can afford to own the cities. Be careful.”
Antisemitic conspiracies involving the Rothschilds have a dark and long history, rooted in myths that are centuries old. The Rothschilds were a powerful and wealthy Jewish banking family who originated in Frankfurt in Germany in the 18th Century. The conspiracy theories became more widespread as the Rothschild family gained more financial success.
As time went on, the suspicions of the family evolved into more elaborate conspiracy theories that were often fuelled by anti-Jewish feelings aimed at portraying the Jewish people as manipulative and powerful-hungry.
Some have accused the family of financing wars to gain profit on both sides. They also claim that they manipulated global markets and orchestrated the Napoleonic Wars, among other things, to increase their power and wealth. These narratives have been repeatedly discredited, but they persist in many forms.
