IDF Launches Precision Strikes on Hezbollah in Lebanon, Neutralizing Key Threats to Israel

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a series of attacks on Hezbollah targets early Sunday morning to prevent missile and rocket attacks directed at Israel.

The Israeli Defense Forces said on Sunday that they have “proactively and broadly”, begun to strike Hezbollah in southern Lebanon targets to eliminate the threats against Israel.

The IDF had detected Hezbollah preparing to launch missiles and rockets at Israeli territory.

At a recent press conference, IDF spokesperson Rear Admir. Daniel Hagari stated, “We are removing the threats against the Israeli domestic front.” “Dozens [of Israeli Air Force] jets strike targets at various locations in south Lebanon.” We continue to eliminate threats and intensify our strikes against Hezbollah.

He continued, “Hezbollah launches rockets and UAVs towards Israeli territory.” “Our aerial defense systems, Israeli Navy ships, and IAF planes take part in the mission to defend Israel’s skies. They identify and intercept threats and strike any place in Lebanon required to remove threats and target Hezbollah.”

After the announcement, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin posted a tweet/X about U.S. defense support for Israel.

Yesterday, I spoke with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant to discuss Israel’s defense against Hizballah attacks in Lebanon. I reaffirmed that the United States is committed to Israel’s defense from any attack by Iran, its regional allies, and proxies.

Gallant has also released a statement via Twittter/X, confirming the discussion.

I conducted a joint assessment of the situation and spoke to @SecDefAustin about the exact strikes that the IDF had carried out in Lebanon to stop an imminent threat towards the citizens of Israel. We will use every means available to us to defend Israel.

Discussions were held on the importance of working together to maintain regional stability and Israel’s security. We thank Secretary Austin and the U.S. leadership who have stood with Israel.

As President Joe Biden returns to Rehoboth Beach after his post-DNC vacation, he makes the announcement. After the convention, Vice President Kamala Harris returned to Washington, D.C. Both have not released a statement on the latest developments.
