Trump Pays Tribute to Afghanistan Troops While Major Networks Ignore Anniversary

The morning shows of the major networks did not mention the anniversary. President Donald Trump paid tribute to the 13 U.S. soldiers who died three years ago when President Joe Biden withdrew from Afghanistan.

On Monday, August 26th, 2024, it will be three years since a suicide bomber from the local branch (ISIS), affiliated with the so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS), killed 13 American soldiers and injured dozens of others at Kabul’s airport, while also killing roughly 170 civilians in the area who were fleeing the country.

Trump laid a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery with Marine Corporal Kelsee Lainhart who was paralyzed in part by the blast.

NewsBusters.com reported that ABC, CBS, and NBC did not mention the third anniversary in their Monday morning programs:

On Monday, it was three years since a deadly Islamic terror attack on the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, which killed 13 American soldiers and 170 Afghans. More than 150 people were also injured. ABC, CBS, and NBC did not acknowledge this tragic day in the lives of American families, which became a symbol of the Biden-Harris administration’s withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Repeat: ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS Mornings did not mention the sacrifices of the brave Americans who stood guard at Abbey Gate. In a shameful move, the networks followed in the footsteps of Vice President Kamala Harri and President Joe Biden by remaining radio-silent (apart from statements issued on paper from their handlers).

Cable news shows aired on the same block, such as Fox Business Network’s Mornings with Maria and Fox News Channel’s Fox & Friends. Newsmax’s Wake Up America and NewsNation’s Morning in America also mentioned it several times.

Both President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris issued statements, but neither visited Arlington.
