When disaster strikes, President Joe Biden’s ability to make it worse is high.
We reported earlier that the purported leader, who had just returned from a beach vacation, was asked Sunday two questions about the supposed federal response to Hurricane Helene. The storm devastated the southeast United States, including western North Carolina.
Biden’s first question was, “Does Biden have anything to say to the hurricane victims?”
What was his response? His response?
Are there additional resources that the federal government can give them? The reporter asked the same question.
Biden replied coldly, “No,” at a moment when he could have said emphatically that they were ready to help in any way they could.
Biden has returned to the White House after his Rehoboth Beach vacation.
He gave a speech this morning about the destruction caused by Helene. The federal government will allegedly stay “as long it takes to complete this job” which is an interesting statement considering that it’s unclear how much federal assistance has reached the affected areas.
One reporter, as Biden was leaving the building, asked him why he, and Vice President Kamala Harris, were not present during the recent disaster.
Biden’s response was another disaster. Here’s the breakdown of the exchange:
Reporter: Why weren’t Vice President Harris and you here in Washington this weekend to command this hurricane?
Biden (sounding defensively): “I was a commander. Yesterday, I spent at least two-and-a-half hours on the telephone. “I command, this is called a phone, and my security personnel.”

Imagine what someone who just lost their entire life might feel if they heard that. In a nutshell, he said, “While you suffered and I was chillaxin’ at the beach, I made some calls.” It’s pathetic and it is not how leadership should look.
Harris, meanwhile, has not released anything other than a carefully staged picture of her allegedly “briefed” by FEMA after raising millions at Left Coast fundraisers. If you missed it, the headset on her phone appears to be unplugged, and the paper that she’s writing on is blank.
I was just briefed by @FEMA_Deanne Criswell on the latest developments about the ongoing impacts of Hurricane Helene. We also discussed our Administration’s continued actions to support emergency response and recovery.
I also spoke with @NC_Governor Cooper about the ongoing… pic.twitter.com/nlZPB0h3mO

They want us to believe “help is on the way,” and weirdly, that photo and Biden’s responses have given me optimism that help is, in fact, on the way and coming in November, when hopefully the veep will be handed her walking papers and America can at long last be made great again.
