We can all agree that this is a one-in-1,000,000 coincidence. Paul Pelosi, yes Nancy Pelosi’s husband, sold Visa stock worth half a million dollars just before the Department of Justice brought an antitrust suit against Visa.
Public documents reveal that Nancy Pelosi’s husband sold more than $500k worth of Visa shares less than three months after the credit card company was hit with federal antitrust charges.
Visa was sued on Tuesday for allegedly monopolizing the debit card market. The lawsuit is the culmination of an antitrust review by the Justice Department that took place over the years.
According to court documents, Visa is accused of using its dominant position in the market to penalize merchants and customers who use competitors as payment processors.
Visa is a good example. There are other options (MasterCard, prepaid cards, etc.) but this is not the main point. What’s the point? How did Paul Pelosi decide to leave? It sure looks as if he had been tipped. Paul Pelosi is a shady figure in many ways. But he is no fool. A suit like this one would indicate to him it’s the right time to sell his Visa stock.
He dumped it.
Christopher Josephs, a tech entrepreneur and owner of the “Nancy Pelosi Stock Tracker”, posted a screenshot on July 3, showing that Paul Pelosi’s wife, Nancy Pelosi had sold 2,000 Visa shares worth between $500,000 to $1 million.
The disclosure form indicates that Pelosi’s transaction has been marked as “SP,” which is short for spouse. This refers to her husband Paul, a venture capitalist based in San Francisco and a real estate investor.
When Paul Pelosi bought Visa stock there was no indication in the public domain that a lawsuit was imminent against Visa.
Visa shares closed at $272.78, down 5.5%.
No public indication was made that a lawsuit was imminent. There was no public indication.
Yeah. Amazingly, Paul Pelosi left before Visa’s shares began to fall and the lawsuit.
Does anyone doubt that Nancy Pelosi is one of the most powerful Democrats in Washington and has probably made contacts within the Justice Department at this point? Is there any doubt that the Pelosi family, is privy to information the public is not aware of?
Nancy Pelosi stepped down from her position as Speaker of the House of Representatives in 2023. She still holds the Bay Area House Seat, which would elect an armadillo with a D to its name. The mythical Shelly McShellface is no longer the representative of CA’s 11th Congressional district. Instead, this woman whose estimated net worth at the time she handed over her gavel was $171.4 million still represents the district. Nancy may have been born into an East Coast family of wealth, but she has certainly made a name for herself. This is probably because of the same incredible coincidences in stock trading that enabled her husband, who was a Visa stockholder, to sell his stock at the last minute.
Have you ever wondered how they become so rich when they/their families are in Congress? This is how it appears they do it. Insider trading is a form of graft.
