It’s not uncommon to see a funny news story. In this case, it was the announcement that relatives of California Governor Gavin Newsom and his wife, the impeccably styled Gavin Newsom were planning a fundraising gala in the San Francisco Bay Area.
For Donald Trump:
A billionaire cousin of California Gov. According to reports, Gavin Newsom’s wife will be hosting a major fundraising event for former President Trump on Friday in California.
Tom and Stacey Siebel are hosting a fundraiser in the Bay Area community of Woodside for Trump on Friday afternoon. Tom Siebel, a billionaire software developer and CEO of his own enterprise AI software company, C3.ai, is a second cousin once removed of Jennifer Siebel Newsom, the wife of Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Tom Siebel donated hundreds of thousands to Trump’s campaign for 2024 and to PACs that support the Republican nominee. This was reported by the Times and San Francisco Gate.
The next Thanksgiving at the Newsom home will be full of laughter.
Okay, the second cousin is a distant relative. It’s a relative, but it’s not a very close one, so it may not be as funny on the surface. Who hasn’t had a disagreement with a family member at some point? I have 30+ cousins (counting only my first cousins and not the second and third removed) and I would be embarrassed by anything they did, especially one in particular. He’s adopted! If I were to be embarrassed by everything they did, one in particular (he’s adopted!) then I would walk around with a permanent flush that started at my navel up.
But I am not the Governor of California. The “progressive”, extreme governor of deep blue California. The governor, whose wife’s relatives are holding a massive fundraiser for Donald Trump. This is what makes it entertaining. This would make it amusing to watch the Newsom family after this shocking revelation.
Newsom’s spouse’s parents are also fleeing to Florida, leaving the Golden State behind. It’s hard to ignore the indiscretions of your cousin, even if they are located far away and misty. We can’t disavow parents.
You can bet on the fact that Gavin and Jennifer Newsom no longer have Tom and Stacey Siebel’s names on their Christmas card list.
This is another example of why the post-Labor Day period leading up to the general elections is called the “silly campaign.” There will be things that make you laugh, that make you want to throw stuff, and that bring hope.
