Remember two years back when videos on social media revealed that Sesame Place amusement park is a bastion of white supremacy?
The controversy began when videos circulated on social media showing Rosita, the mascot of the theme park, ignoring children who asked for a hug.
Here’s some footage for those who may not have remembered.
This is absolutely HEARTBREAKING! 💔 These two young Queens did NOT deserve to be blatantly singled out and ignored by this #SesameStreet character! @SesamePlace MUST address their staff’s disgusting behavior! 🎥: IG/__jodiii__ pic.twitter.com/07shnhEGvM

Leftists in social media continue to cause outrage even though the character is seen hugging black children. This has led to a class-action lawsuit by parents who claim that their children have been discriminated against due to their skin color.
Two years after the viral video sparked internet outrage, a Pennsylvania juror has now found that Sesame Place and its parent company SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment are not liable for racial bias. The unanimous verdict of the jury was delivered on Wednesday, concluding that the theme park had not discriminated against the children.
The plaintiffs sought ridiculous damages of $25 million. Plaintiffs claimed that the girls had been intentionally ignored because of their race, and claimed that other children from different ethnicities were given more attention.
Sesame Place denies the accusations, noting that the mascot costume is a barrier to visibility. I know this because I have worn it in the past.
Sesame Place, in response to the uproar over the incident and the money it wasted on the mandatory training of its employees against bias, decided to spend more money on the training. The company stated that it wanted to make sure all guests felt safe and welcomed.
Sesame Place said, “The facts shown demonstrate that we treat all our guests equally.”
The plaintiffs have reportedly begun evaluating the next steps they will take following the verdict.
This case shows how social media can be used to incite outrage and spread false stories, mostly for clicks and money. Race grifters used the story to convince their audience that everything was racist, including Sesame Street characters.
This story is disturbing because social media can highlight instances of racism and other forms of bigotry. Due to the presence of cynical, bad actors, social media platforms are more likely to be used to spread false narratives and stir up outrage, especially when sharing viral videos that don’t include the context of the situation.
If you jump on X at the time of this article, you will not see any race grifters making comments on the verdict. The truth doesn’t seem to be as profitable as race-baiting.
This is just one example of how it’s important to not believe everything you read on social media, especially when the context is unclear. There will unfortunately be more fake scandals because of the current political climate in America.
